Meet Jesus
He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is the Son of God, the Lord of all, and my Savior.
The Problem: Our Separation
Each of us faces a fundamental problem: sin. Sin is the rejection of God’s law; it is purposeful disobedience. This rebellion results in eternal separation from God in a place the Bible calls Hell. Hell is a real place. The essence of who you are—your consciousness and soul—will be alert and aware of your surroundings for eternity. It is not a pleasant reality.
The Choice: Free Will
If God is a loving God, why would He send anyone there? The truth is, He doesn’t "send" you. Each of us chooses eternity in Hell when we reject the truth found in God’s Word. Our rebellion is a choice to live apart from Him. Because God loves us, He respects our free will to make that choice, even though He knows the consequences are devastating.
The Debt: A Price We Cannot Pay
There is nothing we can do to atone for our rebellion. To a Holy God, even a single instance of rejection is enough to separate us from Him. No amount of good works, personal sacrifice, or human effort can keep us from the consequences of sin. God requires the blood of a perfect sacrifice to atone for sin, and left to our own devices, we are doomed.
The Good News: Substitution
The "Good News" is that Jesus can save us. God’s justice requires a penalty for sin: death. Jesus—being fully God and fully man—lived a perfect life and died in our place, taking that penalty upon Himself. Jesus chose this path; no one took His life from Him. He willingly gave His life to pay the sin debt for all mankind. This sacrifice is a gift. You cannot buy it, work for it, bargain for it, or earn it through "being good" or attending church. It is given freely.
How to Receive the Gift
We receive this gift through two actions: Belief and Repentance.
- Believe: We believe Jesus is who He says He is, and we agree that we have a sin problem only He can fix. In the Bible, "believe" implies a deep, personal reliance. This is faith: the act of turning away from self-reliance and putting total trust in what Jesus has already done.
- Repent: To repent means to "turn and flee" in the opposite direction. We agree with God about our sin, apologize for our disobedience, and begin a life of obedience.
The Helper: The Holy Spirit
When you enter a saving relationship with Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside you. The Spirit convicts you of sin, helps you repent, assists you in understanding the Bible, and empowers you to live a life pleasing to God. Even after choosing to follow Jesus, you will struggle. Our nature remains sinful, and you will fail at times. The process of the Holy Spirit gradually changing you to be more like Christ is called sanctification, and it continues for the rest of your life.
The Reward: Eternal Life
By accepting this gift, we receive eternal life in the presence of God. We will be free from temptation, sin, illness, sadness, depression, and anger. There will be no more suffering or evil—only the peace of God.

The Reality of the Choice
What will you do with this information? Will you continue to live on your terms, or will you accept the free gift of salvation? The choice is real. Your personal belief or unbelief does not change the truth of God any more than disbelieving in gravity stops you from falling. God will honor the choice you make. Choose wisely.
If you decide to accept Jesus’ gift, pray this short prayer aloud:
"Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead, and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord.
I thank You that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me. I turn away from my sins and trust in Jesus alone for my salvation. Thank You for the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus my Lord.
In Jesus' name, Amen."
